Our Story - Ground Truth
Regular photo agencies are for regular people. You and your athletes are better than that. You are part of the 1% that push harder, dig deeper, and embrace your inner savage. You all deserve a photo agency that does the same. Tactalete Images is your trusted teammate that will enter the fray with you and your athletes and capture the images that make the moment.
All of us at Tactalete Images are polite, professional, and prepared to kill it! We go above and beyond and tell it like it is. We started our photo agency to fill a void... the void of professionalism. After working for other photo agencies to photograph obstacle course races (OCR), adventure races, triathlons, and marathons, we noticed an inherent lack of professionalism among other photographers working at those agencies. It became our direct, personal experience that 9 out of 10 race photographers are out-of-shape hobbyists who scarcely know their gear and listen to podcasts while photographing from seated positions. They do not encourage or engage with your athletes, and that behavior diminishes the race experience and image quality. The photo agencies that employ them are only concerned with the number of images produced and not the image quality. Worse yet, those agencies do not require their photographers to adhere to any professional standards or an ethical code of conduct. That lack of professionalism is reflected in their work, as well as the feedback from racers, race staff, and race directors. In short, we got tired of working with amateurs.
We don't just talk the talk. We let our actions speak for us and our image portfolios prove that we walk the walk.
We are not hobbyists. We are professionals. Each of our photographers are military veterans, tactical athletes, and former conflict photographers who work as professional documentary photojournalists. Our time operating in global high-risk conflict zones means we've got the skills and experience to get the shots your tactical athletes actually want. We adhere to the National Press Photographers Code of Ethics for Visual Journalists. Our lives are rooted in service, and photography is how we make our living. It's how we pay our bills and put food on our tables. Photography is not something we only do on weekends. Photography is our life's passion and we impart that passion in each of our images.
We adhere to professional photojournalism standards and focus on image quality, not quantity. We put 100% of our images through a strict editorial process to ensure your images are of the highest quality. We perform this editorial process while on assignment and post your images throughout the race day, with all images posted online within 24 hours of race completion.
We're also avid OCR, adventure racers, and tactical athletes. We get you because we are you! We don't photograph your athletes from the comfy confines of a camp chair while listening to podcasts. We get in the mix with your athletes to capture the moments that matter. Just like you and your athletes, we go the extra mile, get dirty, and embrace the suck! We visually capture unconventional images for unconventional people.
It is our mission to visually capture the decisive moments of tactical athletes.
We always accomplish our mission.
